I don’t know about you but the idea of writing a blog or newsletter, social media content or a marketing piece makes me happy and energized. Regardless of what else I’m doing, I’m apt to put the writing first with everything else falling to second place.
Counter that with what happens when I need to work with Quickbooks or create a new spreadsheet. At those moments my eyes glaze over and I am certain to search diligently for something else to do..
Different strokes for different folks and all that jazz. A cliché for sure but it’s true.
I have a bookkeeper and accountant to help me with my financial stuff, and access to virtual assistants for some of the other things I need done. I know my strengths and weaknesses too and understand that if I want my businesses to succeed and grow, I can’t do it all and most especially, I don’t want to do the things that are not in my “sweet spot.”
So think about it:
Do you like to write?
Are you able to create content on a regular basis?
Do you have difficulty coming up with ideas for your content?
Do you have the time to create content or should your time be spent on other, mission-critical endeavors?
Does your content support your brand?
These questions are very straightforward and depending upon your answers, you might wish to explore the possibility of outsourcing your content development.
We’d love to speak with you about it and I promise, if we are not the right “fit” for your work, we’ll be certain to tell you and can hopefully recommend a resource that might better suit your needs.
Most importantly, be honest with yourself so that you don’t waste time when you could be doing something else.
