Whew, (cliché alert!), it’s new normal, isn’t it?
Gone are the days of handshakes and hugs, gathering in groups and just saying “bye” instead of “stay healthy.” This might go on for a few months or even longer and so all of us have to create a new routine as well.
This might be a good time to start writing.
Think about it. Content is even more important to keep you front and center with your existing clients, prospects and referral sources. LinkedIn, Twitter, your personal or company blogs, Medium and Facebook all provide an opportunity to communicate your subject matter expertise.
Why not ramp up your content marketing?
I think that most people will agree with me as to the wisdom of such an effort, but some might be wondering how the heck to get started.
I suggest this:
1. Set aside a specific time every day to do your writing. Pick a time when you can clear your desk and your mind of distractions and focus on the words.
2. Just let it roll. Don’t edit yourself as you are writing and wait until you are finished to wordsmith the article or post.
3. Don’t get down on yourself because you haven’t created the next masterpiece. Remember that you will have another chance tomorrow or next week to wow your readers.
And if for any reason all of this seems to be too much, or if you simply find that the act of writing is way too painful, then contact us and we’d be happy to do it for you!
